Gayathri - Women Stalwarts In Carnatic Music is a tribute to the amazing women who strived to carve a niche for themselves in the field of Carnatic Music. The book was born as a result of the author's impressions about the lives of these women, their struggles and their ensuing success which in turn proved to be an inspiration for her. Gayathri seeks to absorb the subtleties in their lives that moulded them to be the stalwarts that they were and will be for eternity!
about the author:
Sajna Vinish began her creative pursuits at a very young age, nurturing her love for music and dance. She did her bachelors and masters in Indian Music securing second rank in Kerala University.Along with her artistic pursuits she had been actively involved in the television media and still continues to work as a freelance media professional. An avid reader , her love for books grew with her over the years. Each book opened up new vistas to her and they moulded her language skills as well. Writing was always a mode of self expression penning down one's most impressionable thoughts. It all began with a short story she wrote during her school years titled 'The Only Survivor' and the inspiration she received from her teachers. The urge to write was further strengthened over the years as she actively took up blogging , creative content writing and writing in social media on relevant topics of interest. Sajna felt that it was indeed a beautiful way of communicating one's perceptions through the imagery of words. This has been her driving force and what led to Gayathri!
