Konknni Cholchitram reveals the history of Konkani films produced by cinema aficionados from Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra during the last 60 years, which include 45 celluloid films released till Dec 2014. Comprising of authentic information on Konkani films starting from the first film Mogacho Anvddo (Love's Craving) released in 1950, these productions can be considered as a kaleidoscope of Konkani cinema from the Konkan region. The remarkable book provides detailed information such as plot, technical and financial aspects, success stories, etc. It is decorated with photographs from each film besides carrying lyrics with musical scores. A separate chapter on the contribution of Konkani speaking film personalities to Indian cinema is includes prominent names such as Ermelinda (Sudhabala), Durga Khote, Kamala Gokhale, Mangueshkar sisters, K. Vaikunth, Dominic Dias, Varsha Usgaonkar, Remo Fernandes, Ileana D'Cruz, Hema Sardesai besides Karnataka artistes Freida Pinto, Genelia D'Souza, Deepika Padukone, Amruta Rao, Shyam Benegal, Girish Karnad and others. The book is an update on an earlier edition published in 2009, which was written in the Roman script. This book is written in the Devnagari script.

The author, Isidore Dantas, is based in Pune. Isidore Dantas is a Pune-based author and playwright. His other books are Vozram and Utorsod. He has also translated into Konkani Anita Pinto's 'Espi Mai is Stuck Again and Other Goan Tales' (Espy Maim Porot Xirkoli ani Goycheo Her Kannio) and author–illustrator Angela Ferrao's 'Fuloos Plays With The Sun' (Fuloosachi Huxarkai).
