India Policy Forum 2009–10 (Volume 6) comprises papers and highlights of the discussions from the sixth India Policy Forum (IPF) conference, held on July 14—15, 2009, in New Delhi. IPF is a joint venture of the Brookings Institution and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) that aims to examine India’s reforms and economic transition using policy-relevant empirical research.

The papers in this volume are primarily concerned with the recent global financial crisis and its implications for India. The events of 2009 provided evidence of India’s growing integration with the global economy, an illustration of the resilience of country’s economic growth, and its emergence as a major participant in an expanded system of governance for the global economic system.
